This is the Saint Seiya movie that was so criticized. The place and time: Japan and Greece, Sanctuary, not long after the epilogue of the Hades Chapter. Seiya is powerless and Athena submits her Sanctuary to Artemis to spare him from the Angels Icarus, Theseus and Odysseus. In a completely devastetad and reshaped Sanctuary, the battle begins anew for the Bronze Saints. But this time, the Gold Saints and their cloths won't be able to help, emprisonned in a gigantic statue forever. Now is the time for the heroes to evolve, and confront the Olympians, and finally, Athena is acting like a real goddess! This is one of the finest works of the late master Shingo Araki, who transformed Saint Seiya into the legend it is nowadays. Araki, more than the creator of the original manga (Masami Kurumada) established the visual canon that the whole world fell in love for. Seiji Yokoyama is here too, with his majestic and epic musics. The fans were divided after the movie because of the change of pace in the action and the weird ending. Yet, it would have been the begining of a new golden age for Saint Seiya, if that movie had a follow up. But Kurumada was displeased with the result and decided to create the horrible Next Dimension that is nothing else than the shadow of a once very cool story...

I was nicely surprised and enjoyed by the quality of the movie Saint Seiya Tenkai Hen (Heaven Chapter) Joso Overture. This movie is excellent for the quality of the story, the animation, and the soundtracks with symphonic sounds that I find sublime, mythical! In compare with the Hades Chapters, we finally find a Japanese animation with a better quality: we feel that the whole movie is very well animated. I just regret that the end of the movie let us put lots of questions: we don't fell that there's an end when the movie stop. It seems that as long as GODS get bored and consider human as inferior, the war between gods and human is far from to the end. So, when will there be the next movie?

Probabily one of the best Saint Seita movie ever seen, very beautiful caracter design all along the movie, All pictures are beautifull, the story is very good, very good music too. Perfect Quality DVD picture and sound. Ah... THIS IS THE SAINT SEIYA MOVIE !
