The movie arrived safe and sound, in my case. The movie is extremely pretty and the colors are lovely. The animation is amazing and the soundtrack fits the movie perfectly. There is a good mix of hand drawn animation (not sure if digital or traditional but it is lovely all the same) and 3DCGI which is understandable considering the high amount of mecha and action content, most is drawn though, of course, if memory serves me right. The timing of the soundtrack is also extremely well done and I still get chills even when rewatching it at some scenes. It's a very energetic viewing experience. There is a part where the animation quality drops in a sort of exposition segment but it is more funny if anything to me personally (there are a lot of kanji during this part but thankfully the subtitles made it relatively easy to look them up for my very mediocre vocabulary). There doesn't seem to be subtitles for the bonus cd including the side Galo short and side Lio short which made it VERY hard when you are slightly hearing impaired but it is relatively easy to understand what is happening through context, the audio commentaries and bonus (stage greetings, etc.) aren't subtitled which is understandable from how long they are but you are able to use the normal movie subtitles during the audio commentaries if you'd like to know what they are saying in the somewhat muted sound of the movie in the background during them I suppose. Being vague: In side Galo you get to learn about the reason for Galo's arm cover, in side Lio his biker/jabot combo is still a mystery(wwww). In both you get to learn about Thyma, a minor character in the movie. I love artbooks and the books were very fun, the early draft scenario book was also very interesting to read. I have yet to listen to the soundtrack remix as I don't have a good enough sound system and I want to experience it in better quality when listening to it the first time but I will say that Hiroyuki Sawano's soundtracks are extremely good in my opinion. The plot isn't the most groundbreaking new thing out there but its own twist on it is still fun all the same. I personally love all the character designs. All in all the movie is very exciting and fills you with energy. I highly recommend it. I recommend viewing it in the best environment possible for the first time as it is an experience.
