9 Cozy Anime/Manga Series You Should Check After a tiring chaotic day, you may want to watch a relaxing anime or read a manga with positive energy. This kind of genre is called Iyashikei (癒し系). It is a subgenre of slice-of-life manga/anime. Here are my favorites that you may be interested in.

1- Non non Byori

This story has both manga and anime series. It is about Hotaru Ichijou, who moves from Tokyo to a village with her family. Her new school has only five students. They are in different grades, but they share the same classroom. With this cheerful lifestyle and friends with unique characteristics, she experiences new things every day.

2-Yuru Camp [Laid-Back Camp]

If you are interested in camping, nature, or food, you should try this anime/manga. If you want to know more about this series, don't forget to read our articles: Experience a Laid-Back Camp! and Let's Practice Japanese With Laid-Back Camp. This anime/manga is about Rin Shima, a high school student who loves solo camping, Nadeshiko, the girl who loves Mount Fuji, and her other school friends who are also keen on camping.

There is also a mini-series called Heya Camp.

3- Rirakkuma to Kaoru-san [Rilakkuma and Kaoru]

Rilakkuma and Kaoru is a stop-motion animation series based on a fictional character used at stationery and merchandise. This animation is about Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma, soft toy-like bears, and Kiiroitori, a toy-like yellow chick, who starts living in Kaoru's apartment one day. Rilakkuma is generally only interested in sleeping and eating. But with Rilakkuma and his friends, every day is fun.

There is also a series called Rilakkuma's Theme Park Adventure.

4- Yama no Susume [Encouragement of Climb]

This anime/manga series is about Aoi Yukimura, a high school girl who prefers indoor hobbies after falling and breaking her bones. She also has a fright of heights. She reunites with her childhood friend, Hinata Kuraue, who loves mountain climbing. Hinata persuades Aoi to start climbing again to see the sunrise together, as they did once in their childhood. But with Aoi's fright of heights, it won't be easy.

5- Tonari no Totoro [My Neighbour Totoro]

It is about two young girls who move to the countryside with their father, meet magical creators in the woods, and go on magical adventures.

Nearly everyone knows the giant creature called Totoro. If you haven't watched this Miyazaki film, give it a chance.

6-Tonari no Seki-kun [My Neighbor Seki]

This story is about Rumi and the boy whose desk is next to hers. Rumi Yokoi wants to focus on her lessons, but she is constantly distracted by her classmate, Toshinari Seki. He makes amusing things on his desk. However, he doesn't get caught by his teacher, and it seems only Rumi gets in trouble. This story has anime series, manga, and live-action drama.

7-Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge [Tanaka-kun is always listless]

This anime is an adaptation of a popular web manga series published by Square Enix. It is about Tanaka, a high school student who can fall asleep anywhere. Tanaka wants every day to be uneventful and live a lazy lifestyle. For this, his friend, Oota, helps him to create the environment he needs to experience those quiet and peaceful days.

8-Chi's Sweet Home

This anime/manga series is about a cute stray cat named Chi. A family whose apartment doesn't allow pets to stay takes her in. Chi starts to learn new things and meets new people and animals while having fun in her new life with her new family.

9-Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear

This anime/manga series is about a 15 years old girl named Yuna, who doesn't like going to school and earns money from stocks. She spends so much time enjoying playing a visual reality game. Receiving a bear costume in the game makes her character powerful, more than she can imagine, and she gets transported to another game world. She can't return to real life, so she starts to help people, which makes her popular in that world. That popularity brings new troubles and adventures with it. It is originally from a light novel.
