He is found by Dr. Hiroshi Ochanumizu and named as “Atom”.

Atom is childish, I guess because he is created in the 9 years old child body shape, it is normal. He is pacifist and he only fights if there is no other choice. He has deep love for humanity, even though he had hard times with humans. He has a strong sense of justice and he defends people who need help. 6-Castle In The Sky [Tenkū no Shiro Rapyuta - 天空の城ラピュタ]:

Castle in the Sky was directed and written by Hayao Miyazaki. This anime movie is about a boy and a mysterious girl searching for a mythical flying island called Laputa, which was lost a long time ago and believed to be full of treasures.

A Robot falls from the sky. After that day, both pirates and government started searching for Laputa. Sheeta has a mystery stone on her neck which helps her from getting hurt from falling high places. That stone is believed to show the place of Laputa. Even though she ran from the authorities, they captured her.

After Sheeta repeats some spell words that her grandmother taught her to use in difficult times, the robot which was believed to be broken after its fall from the sky, rises and tries to help Sheeta with the lazer coming from his eye.

We learn that there are two kinds of robots in Laputa. One is to guard and defend and the other is for maintaining the Laputa.

It is believed that Tomogashima is the inspiration for the anime. This place is an island located between Wakayama Prefecture and Awaji Island. If you are interested in real-life anime locations don’t forget to check, Real-Life Locations In Japan That Inspired Studio Ghibli Anime Movies Article.
